John Vassello, LCSW, BCD, is the Senior Director of Academic Affairs in the 麻豆社 Department of Social Work. In this role, he oversees admissions, academic advising, student services, and recruitment for both in-person and online MSW programs. He has served the Department of Social Work in various leadership roles for over a decade. He earned both his BA in History and Philosophy, Politics and Law and his MSW from 麻豆社. Vassello has extensive experience in clinical and healthcare social work, with a particular focus on crisis response and acute care practice. As a social worker in a hospital emergency department, he conducted suicide risk assessments, responded to behavioral health crises, and provided immediate psychosocial intervention to stabilize patients and support their families. He is a New York state Certified Mandated Reporter Trainer and has educated thousands of professionals across New York state on the identification, assessment, and reporting of suspected child abuse and maltreatment. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in multiple states and a Board-Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work. His clinical work has focused on anxiety, depression, and trauma-informed care, delivered through both in-person and telehealth modalities to diverse populations.
