Join Outdoor Pursuits staff on an outdoor adventure! No experience necessary. Any fees cover your guide, transportation and equipment.

Sign up in the Outdoor Pursuits office, EG-10 during office hours (11:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Wednesday through Friday). Email Outdoors@Binghamton.edu with any questions.

Upcoming adventures

Balsam Lake Mountain Fire Tower day hike

  • 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Sunday, April 12

Join us for a moderate trek to the summit of Balsam Lake Mountain in the Catskills. More incredible vistas await those who venture up the first fire tower ever constructed in New York State! Bring along a small pack with lunch, snacks, and plenty of water for the day.

Ricketts Glen Waterfall hike

  • 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Sunday, April 19
  • $20

The Falls Trail System is a national natural landmark containing a series of 21 wild free-flowing waterfalls cascading through rock strewn cliffs. Old growth timber and diverse wildlife can be viewed. Waterfalls range in height from 11 feet to the 94-foot-tall Ganoga Falls. Bring along a small pack with lunch, snacks, and plenty of water for the day.

Cherry Springs Stargazing

Join Outdoor Pursuits for an overnight trip to the darkest skies on the East Coast. We will enjoy a night camping under the stars followed by a day hiking along the ridge of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. All food and necessary camping equipment will be provided.
